One of my users gets an error message while he tries to delete some big size mails from his mail box as given below :
"This item could not be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied."
I tried both from outlook and owa but end up with the same error message.
Please help.!

My configuration of the exchange 2010 environment is as follows.
Two exchange 2010 mailbox servers are configured for automatic failover and working fine.
Need to disable the automatic failover using the following command
Set-MailboxServer –Identity Servername -DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy Blocked
My questions regarding this is as follows.
1.) When the production server is down how can I bring online my secondary server online
2.) After primary server bring online how can I failback to the production server
3.) If I want how can I again activate the automatic failover instead of manual failover

I have a big trouble with mailbox migration.
Situation is: I have orphaned child domain with Exchange 2007 SP1 (root domain was disconnected and destroyed year ago). I need to migrate user accounts with mailboxes to a new domain with Exchange 2010. Trusting was set between domains. User accounts migration successfully tested with ADMT 3.2, but i'm stuck with mailbox movement.
I can't upgrade old Exchange server (2007 SP1) to SP3, because this needs schema update, but no Shema Admins and Enterprise Admins group in the child domain.
I can't export user mailboxes into PST files for future import to new server, because old server is 64-bit.
I set up Exchange management tools on the new 32-bit server, but i can't start neither Exchange management console no exchange powershell, because got "Could not find any global catalog in forest ..." error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've just transitioned to exchange 2010 from exchange 2003.
the exchange 2003 is still operational until i see that everything's working ok. I've moved all the mailboxes to the new exchange 2010 database but ONE user is complaining he's getting a sporadic NDR.
according to what i've digged up is that most probable that the problem is in his laptop. When he's in the company he doesn't have problems sending mail to internal user. only when he is outside the compant eg, home public wifi then he receives a lot of these NDR's.
he's using outlook 2010 configured with HTTPS over RPC. connected his old archive PST.
what i've done already:
cleared his cache of addresses. - didn't help
created a new outlook profile (don't remember if i created a new OST or might have connected to the old OST) - didn't help
worked without cached exchange mode - didn't help
when at home he connected to the internal network via VPN and that seemed to reduce the NDR's but still getting them.
OWA works ok.
what am i missing? it's driving him and me nuts.

I get a strange error when managing a specific distribution group. I try to add a member, but I get the below error when I click on either Apply or OK. The odd thing is, the new member is actually added, but I can't close the dialog window unless I click the 'X' on the upper-right.

It only happens to this particular distribution group (so far, we have hundreds so I can't check them all, but the half dozen I've checked so far don't exhibit the same behavior.) It is a mail enabled universal distribution group.
Any insights are greatly appreciated.

I want to import these files into a PST format.
The size of my public EDB is about 500 GB.

There are several helpdesk administrators have access to change the user mailbox quotas in Exchange 2010 with RBAC. How could we find who had changed the mailbox size of an user?

out company migrates to 2010 exchange from 2007.
we have one forest with subdomains and two sites with 2007SP2 servers.
we already have a deployed 2010SP1 exchange server in master site (domain root site) and migrated site users to 2010.
and now we want to decomission all 2007 servers in master site, but the problem is that the 2007 HT server in sub-domain's site still routes mail via 2007HT server in master site. Why not via new 2010HT server? how we can make HT server in sub-domain route mail via 2010 HT server?

Recently we had added new accepted domain xyz.in in our Exchange 2010 (14.2.328.10) Server and also created associated recipient policy for the same. This domain is hosted with third party and is relaying the messages after scanning to our Exchange Server.
Now it’s seen that this relaying works perfect i.e. after sending mails from other domains like gmail, yahoo, etc. it arrives at respective user mailbox in xyz.in but suddenly stops working and sender receive message as follows:

I can give any access right to mailboxes whether by powershell ( Get-mailbox | Add-ADPermission) or EMC
But setting rights on maildatabase level doesn't apply to mailboxes

After moving a mailbox between databases (EMC or EMS), there is a warning: Warning: Failed to clean up the source mailbox after the move. Erro details: MapiExceptionUnexpectedMailboxState: Unable to delete mailbox. (hr=0x80004005, ec=2634).
Users can successfully access mailboxes, but these mailboxes stay in disconected mailbox node on EMC, and it is shown on EMS afer command [PS] C:\> Get-MailboxDatabase | Get-MailboxStatistics | where {$_.DisconnectReason -ne $null} and their databases are

In our organization send/receive outside of company is impossible except for member of one group "we just set Transport Ruuuuuuuuule for reaching this aim".
Now we have some clients that have no connectivity with outside except some specific mail addresses
e.g.:
user1: pbagherpour@golden.com --> shouldn't be able to send or receive mail to any external mail address except XX@yahoo.com
user2: mpayesh@golden.com --> shouldn't be able to send or receive mail to any external mail address except YY@outlook.com
user3: .....
…

We have a lot of user in this term so we don't want to set a lot of transport rules.
As I checked there is no recipient side setting for this case.
So how should I set this limitation?

I have been tasked with upgrading a client’s Exchange 2007 environment to Exchange 2010.
I would like some assistance with design considerations and first steps;
Current Setup.
2* MBX servers in a cluster
2* CAS/HT servers
All servers are physical and in a single site (Site A).
All mail flow (inbound and outbound) is through a spam filter.
They have three accepted domain (two of them are for separate companies for which they host there mail). The hosted mail users connect via HTTPS over RPC
They have one MX record point to the spam filter
They do have some sort of hardware load balancer currently. They will be upgrading to an F5 load balancer which I have to setup.
1800 users in total with about 600 GB of data
Office 2003 and 2007 users
Proposed Setup.
The data center is moving to two new sites. Sites B and C. The new 2010 servers will be built in Site A and then move to site’s B and C. Lets presume I have a fully redundant vSphere environment at each location using HA clusters.
I would like to go virtual if possible utilitising shared storage for the MBX servers.
I will be putting redundant roles in each site.
I would like information on how many servers I should have and sizing of each server.
I am thinking of a mbx server in each site setup as a two node DAG, and a CAS/HT server (two roles on one box)in each site.
Couple of questions;
Are there other things I should be considering?

We have a DAG setup with two servers that both run Autodiscover, CAS, HUB and MBX roles. Each server is configured with its own FQDN for RPC/HTTP, OWA, EWS and so forth. I want to try to anticipate what will happen if a server goes down with the current config without any type of HA, or NLB implemented. For instance:
When a client contacts autodiscover on say, server1 will server1 return both CAS servers or just itself?
If it returns both, how does the Outlook client choose which one to use?
If one of the servers goes down the failed database is activate on the other server. However given situation above, what if anything do I need to do to make sure clients connect to the remaing CAS server?
