Hello I have a slightly strange issue that has been reported to me.

This is under EX2010 SP3 RU4

When viewing in OWA

Organize E-Mail\Automatic Replies

or

Settings\Mail

from external to my organization both pages render a blank window, other tabs in the same section render fine.

If I use firefox from external both pages render fine with the same user and I can change and set the contents.

Internally in IE or Firefox both pages work fine.

This has previously worked both internally and externally on IE

Retention Policy between Mailbox and Archive Mailbox level

Dear All

I have some questions about the Retention Policy between Mailbox and Archive Mailbox.

I want to apply different retention tag on different Mailbox level. 

In normal case , I would like apply the Retention Policy for Mailbox after 28 days moving to archive Mailbox and over 365 days to be deleted.

And the Archive Mailbox should be liked deleted the mail over 90 or 180 days.

But I found that the archive Mailbox is applied the same Retention Policy as the Mailbox one.

Is it Normal case ? How can I set another retention Policy for My archive Mailbox ?

Hi,

We're experiencing a strange behavior of the tracking status when sending out communications from a shared mailbox.

* Mail sent out of a shared mailbox to 2 distribution groups (that include internal + external email addresses)
* Recipients accept or decline, and these confirmations appear in the shared mailbox
* When checking the tracking status these users show correctly (x users declined/accepted/..)

At a certain moment however, the tracking status changes back to 0 however, and all users that accepted/declined before this time aren't visible anymore.
Recipients that decline/approve/.. after this time are correctly shown again.

What we do see is that the meeting behaves as if it's updated :
For the recipients that responded earlier, we get "this meeting was updated after the attendee sent this response"

Hi

We have a Exchange 2010 - fully patched, and Office 2010 to the users and windows 7.

I have this users, that sent a mail to 2 other collage. The mail had a word attachment in it.

The first user read the mail on his Samsung Galaxy phone, and then open the attachment and read the content. 

Second user open the mail and could not see that there where any attachment within the mail. Told that to the sender, the sender went into "Sent elements" in his Outlook -> for sure, no attachment. 

He then went to the first users that have read the doc on his phone, and yes - the doc was there. But when open outlook or owa - no attachment. 

So.... how can this be happening. Its not like the sender deleted the attachment. 

Is it possible? if so, can someone tell me why this is happening?

We have managed to sucessfully disable ipv6 on DC hosting exchange2010.

After the reboot we are unable to RDP to this server, and exchange services are in starting / stopping mode.

Is there a way how we can with remote registry undo changes for ipv6?

We have used Microsoft Fix it for disabling ipv6:

And we have also unchecked ipv6 on nic after applying those fix-it (that I think caused the issues after the reboot).

Hi

At the moment I search all mailboxes with the below command line.

Get-mailbox | search-mailbox –searchquery "body'example text’" –Logonly –Targetmailbox <me> –Targetfolder Inbox

<me> = my mailbox name

Problem is as there are quite a few mailboxes, the cmd box just scrolls through all the mailboxes until it gets to the end. I cant scroll back up the cmd box and see what mailbox had the positive search because CMD window doesn't scroll back that far.
The summary of the search I receive into my outlook also doesn't tell me who had the positive search.

I prefer to use command line mailbox search than OWA discovery search.

Can anyone suggest an amendment to the command above to either reduce the search output to positives only, or build in a pause to the command line output?
Or any other suggested command line change?

Hello Everyone, Good Day

We are transitioning Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP1, almost 3000 mailboxes, client access has successfully been transitioned to new CAS Array, HUB Transport Servers have also been introduced within the same AD Site, eveything works perfectyly including redirection of client access and mail flow. Now its the time to move mailboxes to exchange 2010 mailbox servers (DAG) but unfortunately when we move mailboxes we are getting following error with plenty move requests:

Error: This mailbox exceeded the maximum number of corrupted items that were specified for this move request.

I understand there is some email corruption in the mailboxes, so i scheduled the downtime and ran ISINTEG tool with -fix and -test alltest switches, it took many hours to complete and also fixed many issues, with one database it showed almost 4000 Fixes !!!

Once ISINTEG completed, we mounted the Database and restarted the migration of mailbox but unfortunately still getting the same error "This mailbox exceeded the maximum number of corrupted items that were specified for this move request."

Is there anyway through which we can identify the actual corrpution and number of total messages which are corrupt within the mailbox? and how can we fix them permanently so that we can move mailboxes to Exchange 2010 with no data loss.

Soonest response is needed, will highly be appreciated.

We are receiving below alert on our EDGE server and ADAM service is not starting on it.

Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services could not be initialized.
 
The directory service cannot recover from this error.

Restore the local directory service from backup media.

Exchange 2010 Ent SP3, have an existing DAG with 3 servers and 5 databases. Can I add 3 new servers to this DAG and put 3 new databases on each of these servers only, while keeping the existing 3 servers/databases?

Hi

I am having some issues using Send As. We are running Exchange 2010 Version 14.2 (Build 247.5) and Outlook 2013.

I have done the following:
1. created a mailbox user
2. created a security group and added my own account
3. added the security group with Send As permission through ADUC on the mailbox user
4. Waited a day and tried to send as the mailbox user, but it fails

If I disable cached mode or use OWA it works perfectly. The mailbox is NOT hidden in the address list.

I have seen this behavior before, but can't remember the "fix"?

I am trying to use outlook 2011 with my Mac to connect to my Company server Exchange with no successwhile I can do it fine with the Mac native aplication "Mail".

Hi folks,

I'm trying to export a CSV of all Mailbox users from in my Exchange org selecting FirstName,Lastname,Displayname,windowsemailaddress,company,Department which can be found using the get-user cmdlet.

Here's what I have so far...

$AllMailboxes = get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited
ForEach($ObjItem in $AllMailboxes){Get-User | select FirstName,Lastname,Displayname,windowsemailaddress,company,Department} | Export-Csv "D:\Location\ContactExport.csv"

My issue is, the foreach cmd doesn't appear to target only the mailbox enabled users as I expected, instead the export contains every AD account in my domain. I'm somewhat  a power shell newbie, I appreciate any help given.

After data update in AD, it will be replicated to exchanger sever, then replicate to another folder and allow outlook client to synchronise.

Is there any specific event in application log administrator can use to check the AD replication and replication between folders within exchange server are OK. Thanks in advance.

While trying to create new mailbox, the following message is displayed:

"Load balancing failed to find a valid mailbox database."

If database is manually selected, there are no problems.

I have a script running which applies "Company  MBX Policy" to all the mailboxes in the org.

Get-Mailbox -Filter {CustomAttribute1 -ne "LITHOLD"} -ResultSize Unlimited | Set-Mailbox -RetentionPolicy "Company  MBX Policy"

I want to exclude one DB-CLIENT from this policy so no policy applies to this DB-CLIENT.  Advise please ... thanks u

Hello everyone,

Since my last post, I've switched companies. In my current Exchange environment, we have three domains. The master domain has an Exchange 2010 environment which is working correctly. My issue is with one of the old legacy domains.

I have been trying to access the EMC and PowerShell console, but am unable to do so. Every time I bring up EMC it fails, and every time PowerShell comes up, it cycles through the old legacy Exchange 2010 servers and only connects when it tries to connect to the new servers. 

The error I am getting when it cycles through the old servers is: "Connection to remote server failed with the following error message: The WinRM client cannot process the request. The WinRM client tried to use Kerberos authentication mechanism, but the destination computer returned an access denied error."

Obviously, this is not what I want. Part of my tasks is to very no data is flowing through these old machines and decommission them upon verification. These are the troubleshooting tasks I have done.

• I have verified the Windows Remote Management server is running.
  
• I have logged into IIS and verified my PowerShell site's KERBAUTH is set to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Bin\kerbauth.dll" and is set to Native/Local. Also verified WSMan is enabled only on the PowerShell level of IIS and is set to Native/Enabled. I've also removed them both and added them back to no effect.
  
• Made sure my Default Website bindings for HTTPS are set to Microsoft Exchange.
  
• Downloaded the EMTShooter files and ran them. The message I keep getting back is "The PowerShell virtual directory must point to the "\Exchange Server\v14\ClientAccess\PowerShell". When I check my PowerShell virtual directory settings, it is pointed to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\PowerShell".Do I need to edit my web config file?

I'm currently at a loss on what to do here. It seems like my variation of this issue hasn't been able to be resolved. Any assistance that can be provided, or if it's something simple I am missing, I would appreciate any help!

On my exchange server, it is possible for users to send emails via SMTP.  So all what a user needs to do is telnet to the exchange server to port 25 and send a spoofed email.

One way I though about addressing this is to block SMTP all together.  However, I have many appliances that use this protocol to send alerts and notifications.  So one solution I would consider is the following:

- Setup a firewall rule on the exchange server to block port 25 and allow it only for certain appliances. 

I would like to know if this would achieve what I am looking for.  Would this disable spoofing from users within the internal network? 

Would it be possible to spoof emails using MAPI ?

I am working on a project to migrate the client from lotus notes to Outlook 2010 I am not to technical I am being asked to compliel a list of FAQ's for the users  can anyone point me to this or help please thank you.

I am not the person inplementing the changes just supporting the users once they have issues.

any information I'm sure will be helpful
