Exchange 2010
Outlook Web App didn't initialize
Today is December 12, 2012. We have run Windows Updates on our Small Business 2011 Server. After the restart, configuration of updates and then subsequent restart all seemed fine, however, upon trying to access our Exchange server OWA we are getting the following error:
Outlook Web App didn't initialize
There are NO additional details in any of the log files and we have tried several older fixes we have found via googl-ing the error, but to NO avail.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue.
Thanks,
Jason

Using Exchange Load Generator for ActiveSync Testing
Hi - I am trying to do some basic load testing of the ActiveSync protocol. Has anyone done this? I have found:
1) The 32 bit version of the Exchange Load Generator throws an exception during one of the setup screens:
LoadGenWin Error: 0 : 12/14/2012 10:26:56 -- Unable to load default profiles:System.ArgumentException: The path is not of a legal form.at System.IO.Path.NormalizePathFast(String path, Boolean fullCheck)
at System.AppDomainSetup.NormalizePath(String path, Boolean useAppBase)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.TaskEngine.LazyInitModules()
at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.TaskEngine.get_LoadedWellknownProfiles()
at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.TaskEngine.get_LoadedCustomTypes()
at Microsoft.Exchange.Swordfish.GUI.WizardForm.loadProfiles()
I don't know what path might be the problem - something to do with the modules. This happened on my Win7 box as well as my Win Server 2008.
2) The 64 bit version of the tool does not include the ActiveSync protocol, even though the download page says it does. There is no module included for ActiveSync and there is no option for ActiveSync when setting up a test.
Any ideas?

Using ADFS with Outlook Anywhere, Activesync
Hello,
I know that this isn't supported by default however I'm scouring the interweb looking for information as to how to use ADFS to authenticate Outlook Anywhere, Activesync, and Lync 2010. Even if this means hiring an integration firm, I'd like to know what to ask them to do or what the best approach to be. If there's a 3rd party solution I'd also be open to that! Thanks for any info!

Exchange 2010 Security Certificate issues with HTTP over RPC
Hi,
I have a customer who is receiving an error when he opens Outlook 2010 when away from the office. It's the 'There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name on the target site ....'
This is only a problem if the 'Only connect to the proxy servers that have this principle name in their certificate:' is checked.
One thing I thought could be the issue is that there are 2 certificates in Exchange, one for some Shoretel phone services. Anyway, here's some more info:
If anyone can see why I'd be getting this error, please let me know.

Exchange 2010 - Disabling Outlook Anywhere returns error
We're transitioning from Exchange 2003 to ver 2010, and through the course of trobleshooting various issues we've come across, I have been unable to disable Outlook Anywhere on the CAS at our DR site. The error is:

Exchange 2010 DAG License question
My client has a onsite Exchange 2010 server on virtual enterprise R2 2008 with Standard exchange. Currently they have DC on a data centre - however it is configured on a same site and same subnet - so logically it is the same AD site. My clients wants a possible DAG in the data centre (on the same subnet).
Can someone confirm what additional license I need for this set-up? Will an additional standard exchange license will do? They have 4 active exchange DBs on the onsite server. My guess is second license can cover 4 passive database
Thanks in advance
How could I know which server has offline address book ?

Errors during Move mailbox
failed to communicate with the mailbox database. It was running the command 'Get-MoveRequestStatistics'
The move process appeares to be hung but the move request still has the status of "Moving". In the event log I'm getting the following message:
The database engine has consumed 80% of the "version store buckets" resource (13109 used out of a maximum of 16386) for database 'Mailbox Database 2126160164'.
How do I resolve this issues? I hope that I have lost my bosses mailbox.
Thanks

Migrating to Exchange 2010
We are running into a few problems with our migration. We went from a 2003 Windows server with 2003 exchange to a 2008R2 Enterprise server with 2010 exchange. We did not uninstall the 2003 exchange server properly. So now we have a few issues. Looking at the new server, I see some errors in the event log.
The first error is 5006:MSExchange Transport:
Cannot find route to Mailbox Server CN=Old Server, CN=Servers, CN=first administrative group, CN=Administrative groups,
Next Error: 5020 MSExchange Transport:
The topology doesn't contain a route to Exchange 2000 or Exchange Server 2003 OldServer.local in Routing group CN=first routing group, CN=Routing Groups, CN-first administrative group, CN=Administrative Groups, CN=DOMAIN, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=Services, CN=Configuration, DC=Domain, CN=local in routing tables with the timestamp 12/18/2012 7:23:31 PM.
next error: 14029: MSExchangemailboxAssitan
Couldn't find an exchange 2010 or later folder server with a replica for the free/busy folder: EX/O=DOMAIN/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP
What can we do to fix these errors?
