I've received many notifications about out of office in Outlook 2010. My environment is Exchange 2010 SP3.
Many users set their out of office message, set rules and they notify me that it isn't working.
When I check it is true. Nothing appear in my Outlook tip and rule doesn't work when I send message to this person.
After some time it works.
I don't know why this isn't works fine.
What I could test or check to resolve this issue?

I have this BIG Standard DL Exchange 2010. It has got loads of disabled users in it and not properly up to date and when emails are sent to it, does not go to all cos those users are not in this DL, were not added manually. Poor on-boarding process.
Want to avoid to convert this to a Dynamic DL due to various reasons I read.
I was thinking to come up with a Powershell which runs daily after hours and does the following:
- Check to see if a new user with mailbox was created today on-prem/o365 add it to this standard DL?
I can start with add-distributiongroupmember but I need some assistance with the entire script. I will be working on this.

We have setup an exchange 2010 sp3 server in a Domain environment.
From my multi function printer, We use the scan to email function on the copier.
On my Microsoft Outlook, i received an email (plain text format) with an attachment .eml
If i open the .eml attachment, I will see the scanned document.pdf attached in it. The .eml file is in html format
The correct behavior to received the scanned document should be receiving .PDF file in the email.
What could be the cause? Any help will be appreciated!

I am using exchange 2010 hybrid environment with all my users in cloud, i have an onprem DL, if any user is added to this DL, i want to get a notification that an user is added to this DL, is this possible.
After following the directions on tech document "Exchange Server TLS guidance, Getting Ready for TLS 1.2". I was able to use the TLS 1.2 in a browser, but cannot use it to configure IMAP in Exchange 2010. Am I missing something or is in NOT possible to configure IMAP to use TLS 1.2 with Exchange 2010?

I have tried to install Exchange server 2010 on Windows 2008 R2 domain controler, but I have this error message :
The forest functional level of the current Active Directory forest is not Windows Server 2003 native or later
also I have updated level of my forest from windows 2000 native to WINDOWS 2008 R2 and restart my server. but when I relaunch exchange 2010 setup I receive same error message.
in folder c:\exchangesetuplogs, I have found this error message "Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container." repeated more thant 3 times.

We are a complete Exchange 2010 SP3 organization with several servers. We migrated from 2007 several years ago and are now going to migrate to Ex 2016. While there are no issues with Exchange at all when I add a new mailbox or add a replica to public folder I will see the uninstalled and deleted Exchange 2007 server we removed years ago. I did run a Exchange uninstall on it I did not just shut it off but still I see these ghosts in various places.
So my question is can I go into ASDI edit and delete every occurrence of server "Ex2007" I find safely? I don't want to risk my current environment but I have a feeling these ghosts will cause a problem when we migrate to Exchange 2016.
Again these current environment works perfect so it isn't actively routing traffic to this box or something like that it just shows up in various lists as I do things.

In my organization we have close to 3000 mailboxes. I got the task to find the total size of specific 1000 mailboxes.
I have the CSV file that has:
FirstName, LastName, Alias (email address).
I want to run get-mailboxstatstics from the CSV file and pipe total size of my 1000 mailboxes to another CSV file.
Let's assume my CSV file is: users.csv
What would be the PowerShell script to execute this?
My environment is mixed Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 SP1 update 5. I have a number of users that access a public folder calendar by adding it to their public folder favorites which then adds it to their Outlook 2010 Other Calendars.
Beginning last week these users started reporting that the public folder calendars are starting to disappear from Other Calendars. If they go to their public folder favorites and click on the public folder calendar it seems to add it back in to Other Calendars.
Any ideas why they started to disappear?

after all of our mailboxes have been moved to another Exchange organization, I am trying to get rid of my current Exchange environment which consists of two CAS/HT and two MBX servers. I have uninstalled Exchange sucessfully on one of the CAS/HT, and removed the DAG. I now fail to uninstall the first MBX server:
1. After deleting all public folders, there is still the "Internet Newsgroups" left. I foiund a web pages which are addressing this problem but don't really offer a solution.
2. The uninstall procedure on the first MBX complains that there are still replica in the PF database. I cannot find them:

Internet Newsgroups {MBX1-PF}There is no replica on the server I would like to uninstall, only on the other server.
Any idea on how to proceed? I understand that successfully running the uninstall program is the only way to keep the AD really intact.

This is not really a question as it is a knowledge sharing. We recently suffered a total outage on our Exchange 2010 org where the symptoms were all Exchange services were cycling and the Information Store wouldn't start, on all servers. And the servers
were so slow,even the network stack was affected.
We saw errors with event ID's 1 & 2114
Unhandled Exception "The Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service on server localhost did not return any suitable domain controllers."
Process MAD.EXE (PID=3920). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185,"Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers.
We ruled out hardware and finally called support.
Somebody, in the process of hardening the DC's had overwritten the permissions on "Manage Auditing and Security Logs" with just Administrators. The AD security group "Exchange Servers" needs to be in that setting in User Rights Assignment on the DC's.
Maybe this will help others to quickly find in case it happens to them.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to migrate my Exchange 2010 to Office 365.
I get error/warning HCW8078 - Migration Endpoint could not be created when running the Hybrid Configuration.
I get error "We coun't detect your server settings. Please enter them. The Exchange Remote endpoint settings could not be determined from the autodiscover response. No MRSProxy was found running at "mydomain". When I enter the FQDM of my exchnage (same FQDN my OWA runs on) I get an error.
I followed the document below with Microsoft support team at least 3 times already.

I have also disabled, enabled MRS and restarted the IIS several times. (This is something that has worked for several people). But not for me.
My MRS Replication is working, and health is ok.
My firewall is directing traffic coming to 443 to the CAS.
The last (Test Migration Availability) I ran gave me the results: "The connection to the server "FQDN of my CAS" could not be completed. ) (The remote server returned an unexpected response: (405) Method Not Allowed...).
Microsoft support keeps saying the firewall is somehow blocking traffic but I everything looks good when it comes to the firewall.
I honestly don't know what else to do. Any support is greatly appreciated. My goal is to migrate current users to Office 365, once all there then decommission the Exchange 2010 server.
FYI:
My auto-discover is running on a .com domain and my FQDN on a .net domain. (Not sure if the problem is somewhere in IIS).

Hi all,
Trying to figure out why when any iOS device tries to connect our Exchange 2010 server that a certificate warning pops up stating "cannot verify server identity". When selecting details is comes up with a cert name that is not in our organization. If you click continue it proceeds with connection to the Exchange account.
For obvious reasons we are concerned about where this cert is residing and how it got there. But I haven't been able to pinpoint where it could be. Our Exchange does have a valid SSL cert.
Note: We do not use Activsync autodiscover.

Hi, I have a exchange 2010 SP3 installed. yesterday suddenly outlook were disconnected all users with the exchange server but OWA working fine.
I checked the services and founded on exchange server "Exchange RPC Client Access service was not started" After looking in the Application log I found an error with Event ID 1002 MSExchangeRPC:

I've three physical servers, One is old and running Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2011 standard as Domain Controller (has built-in Exchange 2010 RTM RU5), and the other new servers are running ESXi (each ESXi has 2 VMs, One as directory server/Domain
Controller and other VM as Exchange server)
I'm going to convert my old single server (Domain controller + Exchange 2010) to be run as a virtual servers (separate them from each other) with the HA plan.
So on the new servers, my plan will be as the following:
* Directory server/DC = Win 2019 Data center
* Exchange server = EX2019 running on Win 2019
- EXSi-SRV1 ----> WinSRV2k19-DC1 (Master Domain Controller)
EX2k19-MB1 (Mailbox DB Server 1)
- ESXi-SRV2 ----> WinSRV2k19-ADC (Additional Domain Controller)
EX2k19-MB2 (Mailbox DB Server 2)
Besides having an Edge server - EX2k19-EDGE (Edge Transport Server) as Standalone
My Questions are below:
- How can I do a Roll up update RU30 on EX2010 SP3, how this process can be done?
- Should the migration is done after the conversion or it has to be later on?
- Should I (Upgrade) OR (Migrate)?? From EX2010 -> EX2013 -> EX2019
OR From EX2010 to EX2016 and then to EX2019, Which path should I go with?
- Any recommendations for these setups? I appreciate your help
- Could you provide me with a guide in order to do step-by-step upgrade/migration?
