We recently had an issue with our Exchange server 2010, we had to setup a temporary CAS server in order to rebuild our production Exchange server running all the roles.
Once the server was rebuilt, all services were verified but we started getting warnings about a certificate that is expired on the root domain URL which is hosted on an external server when connecting via Outlook anywhere.
I have verified that all my ExternalURL parameters for all the Client access services are pointing to the correct URL mail.mydomain.com but Outlook keeps showing a warning of an invalid certificate that was found in https://mydomain.com.
I have researched this issue for a significant amount of time and I have not been able to identify the cause of the problem. I am thinking that there is a reference to https://mydomain.com somewhere in the Exchange Organization settings but I have not found it. I am aware that Autodiscovery will look first for the domain root for the XML file but shouldn't it drop any reference to the root domain if the autodicover information is not found there?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
