I am in the middle of a cross forest migration and I have reached what seems to be a common problem made worseJ
One side is 2010, the other is 2003 with a 2010 bridgehead doing federation and mail routing etc.
I am trying to use Resource mailboxes in the new domain and while these work perfectly internally, they do not autoreply and auto book for users in the original forest.
I can email the relavent contact for the booker from the bookee domain (contact sync works)
I can see the appointment arrive and it gets marked as tentative.
No email attempts to leave the Resource mailbox.
I have set the process external meeting messages value to $true but the next step for setting this up traditionally is to create a remote domain connection etc. My problem is I am sharing a domain between both forests and Federation requires the external SMTP address to match an auth domain/internal address. This means setting up a remote domain and sender is not really an option as I won’t be able to route email.
Any ideas?
