Here's my story:
I've got Exchange 2010 (running on SBS 2011, if it's relevant). The other day one of my users somehow managed to attach a 2 GB (not a typo-- 2 GIGABYTES) video file to an e-mail and send it to another internal user.
This immediately tripped his mailbox size quota (which was 3 GB), of course, and it caused delayed e-mail processing system wide plus a cavalcade of Exchange errors in Event Viewer as that message wormed its way though the system, taking almost 48 hours to reach its recipient.
Once I figured out what was happening and found and deleted the offending message from both sender and recipient, all seemed to quickly return to normal.
But here's my question: How the heck was this guy even able to send such a ridiculously large attachment in the first place? I checked the Send and Receive connectors, and they were all set for the default 10MB.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
