I haven't been able to find the answer to this question so what better place to post it. My question surrounds DAGs and SAL (SPLA) licenses. Let's say contoso.com has a primary site and wants to have a DR site. They purchased their own exchange enterpries license and want to host their DR site at a 3rd party hosting provider. Would contoso have to supply their own exchange license or can they utilize the SALs from the SPLA? The database dag in DR is passive so the question is do they need SALs for every user on the DR side as well resulting in 1200 licenses. 600 for each site. Does this make sense?
