Hi Guys,
I am installing a new Exchange 2010 server into a exchange 2003 domain.
Current setup
2 x DC 2008 SP2 Enterprise.
1 x Exchange 2003 Sp2 Enterprise.
I went through all the best practice setup and install all the patches, rebooted then ran setup.
Now the installation failes with Exchange Transport failed to reach status Running on this server.
I have read allot about having IP6 running on the system to get this working. I did have IP6 enabled and have also run the remove IP6 process. I still get the same error.
I have also stop the Firewall service as suggested by http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrsecuremessaginglegacy/thread/a03e3fa7-a805-4a65-a014-7fcd42d5ddce
Please note that although best practice say to install Client access role first, this service was not installed first and has not yet been install.
Please note that for some reason the Readiness check fails to retrive AD information for System that is in Sites and services but not in Domain Controllers. I believe this was a DC that had been renamed, clicking back and next get around this issue.
Any ideas on how to resolve this would be most appriciated. Also can I just uninstall exchange 2010 from the server and restart without creating a problem in the domain. (Currently Mailflow on the Exchange 2003 is still flowing normally.)
