We have Three node DAG whereas two nodes Primary1 & Primary2 are at primary & one DR at secondary site. we want all our databases to be active on primary site & passive copies on DR which we will use only in disaster scenario for activating.
our query is once we added DR server into DAG quorum established with three nodes & mapi, heartbit network. When we checked Primary1 server was having PAM role & Primary2 & DR having SAM role. when we ping DAG it was resolving to 1.1.1.1(Primary)
DAG : 1.1.1.1(primary),2.2.2.2(Secondary)
In night when we checked ping DAG it was resolving to 2.2.2.2(Secondary) so may be Quorum owner has changed from Primary1 to DR. i want to understand why Primary2 has taken over PAM role instead of DR server.
DAC enabled for DAG
Also as i can use DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy Blocked to avoid DB to get activated from DR site, can i also make sure to shift PAM role from being activated on DR site.
How can i troubleshoot for finding reasons of shifting of PAM role.
