Problem:
Marlyn can book meetings in 2nd Floor, G1, B1 and President's Office. When she is away Isaac can't because his account doesn’t have permissions. I need to grant Isaac the same permissions as Marlyn on 4 Public Folders using the Exchange Management Shell in Exchange 2010 (not SP1).
I found a good article here: http://thoughtsofanidlemind.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/exchange-2010-public-folders-part-3/
Firstly I ran this PowerShell command to see what permissions Marlyn had:
Get-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity '\Meeting Room - 2nd Floor'
I noted that Marlyn was an Owner and all other staff were Reviewers.
I then ran these PowerShell commands to grant Isaac owner permissions on the Public Folder:
Add-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity '\Meeting Room - 2nd Floor' –User isaaco –AccessRights 'Owner' –Server EXCH01
Add-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity '\Meeting Room - B1' –User isaaco –AccessRights 'Owner' –Server EXCH01
Add-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity '\Meeting Room - G1' –User isaaco –AccessRights 'Owner' –Server EXCH01
Add-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity "\Meeting Room - President's Office" –User isaaco –AccessRights 'Owner' –Server EXCH01
Now Isaac can do the same as Marlyn on 3 out of 4 public folders (still cannot create an appointment for the President’s office).
If I run this command it clearly shows that Isaac is now an owner of the President’s Office…
Get-PublicFolderClientPermission –Identity "\Meeting Room - President's Office"
3 out of 4 aint bad but I need the President’s office!!
When I look at the Public Folders using the Public Folder Management Console I can see that the icon for the President’s Office is slightly different…? Does anyone know if this points to the reason why it’s not working?
Any thoughts appreciated!
