I'm getting ready to deploy Exchange 2010 for a customer that had an orphaned Exchange 2000 installation at some point. From what I have been told, the server had a hardware failure, and then went to a non Microsoft mail system.
I went ahead and followed KB Article 273478 on completely removing an Exchange Organization and those steps completed without error. My concern is that there are still a lot of references in the schema to this old Exchange installation.
Might anyone have some thoughts about what else needs to be done or is the removal process that I followed enough. The old server has long been shutdown.
