Hi,
We are currently using NLB in our Exchange 2010 SP2 environment.
Two AD sites, each with two HUB/CAS servers and a CAS arraay in each site
We would like to change to sue Hardware Load Balancing instead of Network Load Balancing.
The network guys will assist in configuring the F5 load balancers, using this guide from F5 Click Me
Do my steps for changing to HLB in each site sound ok?
- Configure Exchange to use static RPC ports for MAPI and Directory Access and test
(requires registry changes on CAS and Mailbox servers and a reboot)
http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2007/planning-architecture/uncovering-new-rpc-client-access-service-exchange-2010-part2.html - Configure F5 load balancers, ready for cut-over ( Click Me )
- Drainstop hosts and then uninstall NLB from our two HUB.CAS servers
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730991.aspx - Configure the HLB to use the I.P address of our CAS array
- Test
I'm hoping the process is relatively straight forward but if I have missed something please let me know
Many thanks !
