Hi Guys,
This thread (unanswered) is having a similar issue to myself: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/f34fbe45-0035-4e2f-a58f-b2232093646d
If I right click my disk I see that total disk space used is 749GB of 900GB. However when I go to the root folder, select all and do the same thing I get a total of only 390GB used!!
All log files etc are stored on the same disk and the index catalouge, full backups running weekly, incs twice daily. I have no log file older than my last incremental.
There are 3DBs on this disk and between them they have 120GB of whitespace free, I would of course expect whitespace to be contained within the EDB file and therefore reported when I select all the folders in the root of the drive! Is this correct?
Where is my disk space going, and more importantly how can I even begin to predict disk usage if it's not getting reported correctly!!
At present I'm checking disk space and I intend to write powershell to further add white space to the total space free, therefore allowing me to see what I have in total on the disk. However when my free disk space is out by what, 300GB, then I've got issues tracking usage!
So if anyone here could help explain this or assist with actually measuring my disk space usage accurately I'd really appreciate it
Thanks,
Nick
