Hi,
I'm having major issues with deploying Exchange 2010. This is a greenfield site based on:
Server 2008 R2 Forest/Domain Functional Level
2 x AD Sites with a GC Server in both sites
Pure ESXi 4.1 environment
Schema and Domain Prep completed with 100% success
The first deployment attempt in one AD site failed (not sure why). I do know that IPv6 was disabled on the Exchange server (only disabled by unticking the option in the NIC settings) prior to the failed install. I've deleted the server, reset computer account, recreated the server with exact same hostname, IP addresses, drives and drive letters and IPv6 left enabled.I have ran setup /m:RecoverServer /TargetDIR:E:\ExchangeServer but the install fails as the Transport Service fails to start in a timely manner.
What is confusing me is that the ExchangeSetup log file mentions "Processing Component 'Bridgehead Service Configuration' (Starting Hub Transport services). I was under the impression that Birdgehead servers were back in Exchange 2003 days???
Any ideas out there on the issue here? Has deploying Exchange in the first instance without IPv6 caused the issue even with a recovery to a server with IPv6 enabled? Is it time for to to trash the server and go though the task of removing all references to Exchange using ADSIedit and starting again from scratch?
Any help would be appreciated :-)
