I have completed my migration of mailboxes to my new Exchange 2010 server, which is running side by side currently with the old Exchange 2010 server that I will be decomissioning.
Before I move forward decomissioning the old server, I need to know how to disable the old Exchange 2010 server from being able to send email. The source server is set to the new Exchange 2010 server, and all the mailboxes are migrated to the new server as well as public folders, owa, oab, etc.
I still want the old Exchange 2010 server to be able to receive email but only queue it and not send it so that I can capture what application servers are still trying to send to the old server and get them addressed to use either the DNS server names, or get them to change old config files that point directly to the internet IP address of the old server and get them to switch it to the new server before I decommission the old one.
How do I do this so I can see who is still trying to send to the old server by looking at the Queue Viewer to see what is queuing up?
