Good Morning,
After perusing the many apparently unresolved questions about this I need to post my own. We are having the same sort of issue with regard to apply a Retention Policy.
We have created a Tag and Policy (per all the instructions) to remove Deleted Items Permanently after 180 days. We have deleted and re-created. We have created them from GUI and CL. We have run the Start-ManagedFolderAssistant command.
I have looked at the headers in Outlook for the retention tag (as stated in other threads), it is not there. I have used Cached and Online mode. No where in Outlook 2010 can I find info re retention or tags.
In OWA if you open a message (received 10/1/2010 or 3/15/2013) a banner appears on the message "Retention Policy: RCasals-DeletedItems (6 Months) Expires: 9/9/2013". Although we applied the Policy several days ago.
So, this yields several questions:
- How does one see this information in Outlook 2010? Should you not be able to see the retention info?
- Is there a way to glean more information about Retention policies in Outlook, OWA, CL, GUI for troubleshooting this?
- Why is this policy not going to apply until 180 days from now?
Thanks for the help
