I have recently had an end user come to me since a Shared Mailbox got mapped to her Outlook 2010 client. This is a mailbox she was granted access to Month's ago. But it only showed up recently. I've read Steve Goodman's Blog on how to stop the Shared Mailbox Mapping Feature, and thats probably something we'll do in the future, unfortunately, we're a very large organization, and we have to go through testing and change control requests to get this done. So I do understand how and why it works, and how to make it stop work.
My quest is this - what would trigger this to show up recently, when she's been an owner of these mailboxes for months? We have not done any Exchange SP's, and she didn't get a new computer, or have her Outlook profile rebuilt lately. I know its an AD attribute that tells Outlook to put these mailboxes in the folder list, but I'm just trying to figure out what triggered it after so many months to NOW start showing up.
Any help that can be provided, would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks.
