A & MX Records

Hi,

I posted before about some problems I am having and was advised to maybe split the problems up one by one.

This post is to check what 'A' and 'MX' records I need to have setup to properly get Exchange 2010 working.

My Setup is as follows

Win 2008 R2 Domain - adlocal.mycompany,co.uk

Exchange 2010 Internet Facing Name - exchange.mycompany.co.uk

At the minute my Website is hosted by a Company called Heart Internet and they handle all of my POP3 Email.

I have set up an 'A' record on heartinternet to point exchange.mycompany.co.uk to my Public IP of the Server. I have set up an MX Record which points anything sent to @test.mycompany.co.uk onto exchange.mycompany.co.uk - I had to use @test.mycompany because otherwise it will prevent Heart Internet from handling my email.

I havent set any records up on my Server, but I have added mycompany.co.uk to accepted domains as this is the email format I would like to use. I also added @test.mycompany.co.uk as an accepted domain for testing purposes.

Do i need to set up some A or MX Records on my Server? if somebody can point me to a guide I am happy to read up, my problem has been that all of the guides i have read so far dont account for if a hosting company is currently handling email on the same addresses you want to use on your Exchange Server.

Thanks.
