I'm not an expert on Exchange and am not sure exactly what the difference is between Account Disabled, IsMailboxEnabled and "disconnected".
What I need is a command that tells me how many "normal", user mailboxes that are "active" in real world terms.
Basically how many individuals have a personal mailbox. We need this for licensing terms. We don't want mailboxes that are being kept around for archive reasons, room or shared mailboxes, etc.
This is not specific to one organization. So, "it depends on how your organization manages mailboxes" doesn't apply. We need a generalized query that makes a best effort to report how many mailboxes meet the above criteria for an organization following normal Exchange and AD practices.
Hope that makes sense. And I really appreciate any help you can provide.
