I'm trying to setup a Exchange Server 2010 and having some issues in sending/receiving the emails..
Current Situation :
- We have Windows Server 2008 with public IP address and we have installed Exchange Server 2010 and required updastes/roles (Ad/ Dns/etc) on that serer.
- We created a subdomain "mx.michael.sync" as MX record and pointed to our public IP Address.
- We are able to send emails between users that we created on that server.
- We are able to use "Web Outlook client" as well.
- The problems that we are having are in sending/receiving emails. I created Send connector in Exchange. Initially, we are able to send a email to gmail but after sending one or two, we can't send it anymore. We are getting this error below.
mx.google.com rejected your message to the following e-mail addresses:
mx.google.com gave this error:
[175.41.148.14] The IP you're using to send mail is not authorized to send email directly to our servers. Please use the SMTP relay at your service provider instead. Learn more athttp://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=10336 i2si8438282icv.64
Your message wasn't delivered due to a permission or security issue. It may have been rejected by a moderator, the address may only accept e-mail from certain senders, or another restriction may be preventing delivery.
- I already enabled "anonymous" in receive connector but it doesn't work. I don't get any bound email but I don't receive any email as well.. It seems like the mails are lost in between.
Questions:
- Does Smtp and POP features be included automatically in Exchange Server 2010? Or Do I need to have another SMTP/POP server after installing Exchange Server?
- I created MX record and point to public IP address. Do I need to create A record for that?
- Do I need to forward something in DNS of my server? As I mentioned, I created a MX record that point to our server. Do I have to do something in DNS zone?
- The forest name of my AD is michaelsync.net so the full name for my server become "ip123.michaelsync.net". I noticed that I can specify "FQDN" in "Send connector" and "Receive Connector"... Do I need to use mx.michaelsync.net or ip123.michaelsync.net? (Basically, I like to know where I should use mx.michaelsync.net in Exchange Server.)
- As I mentioned, I already enabled "anonymous" in receive connector but I can't receive any email from external client. What else do I need to change in Exchange Server?
- The error message suggested that I need to use SMTP relay instead of direct IP for sending email. I tried to use either mx.michaelsync.net or ip123.michaelsync.net as a smart host but I still can't send the email. no error. I checked in Queue Viewer as well. I found no error or no unreachable emails.
I've spent the whole days to test but still not working. Hope you can point me the right direction. Thanks.
