Hope you can help - unfortunatley my knowledge on recovery in Exchange 2010 is not too great.
We backup our Exchange 2010 server using DPM 2010. I have been asked to ExMerge the data from every mailbox into .PST format from all monthly backup tapes for the last year! (Required for an email archive solution in the cloud if you are wondering...)
Could anyone shed some light on what may be the best way of doing this? I have read about Recovery Storage Groups, however I understand that the Active Directory also needs be in the state of when the Exchange backup was taken? Is this correct? If so, I'm a bit unsure how I am going to accomplish this!
My other option would be to build a seperate network to restore from, issue is that we only have one tape drive so ideally I don't want to be messing with this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
