We are currently working on an Exchange 2010 SP1 to Exchange 2010 SP1 cross forest migration. The users in the source are on a seperate continent connected to target using a site to site VPN tunnel over 10Mbit link. The source Exchagne server uses Personal Archives with a total size of 265Gb. Exchange 2010 Personal Archives are not allowed in the target becasue of a third part archinving solution.
Is it a better idea to move the archives into the user's primary mailbox in the target over the wire, or would it be possible to physically copy the database, shipping it on removable media to the target, rattaching, then moving into the primary target mailbox?
