Installing Exchange 2010 roles and features on a server before it is a domain member?

I'm talking about the roles and features installed on a W2K8 R2 (SP1) server before installing Exchange 2010 (SP3).

Import-Module ServerManager

then...

Add-WindowsFeature

This is mostly for my notes and my understanding.

Setting up a practice lab environment, I had inadvertently installed them on a server that I had not yet joined to the domain. Since this was all running on VMware, I simply reverted to a previous snapshot (very useful feature) and started over once the server was added to the domain.

Would the features still work? I'm guessing most of them would but I was wondering about something like RSAT-ADDS being installed by a local admin on a server that is not yet a domain member.

Could that cause problems later?

In other words, if you were directing an Exchange 2010 deployment and discovered someone had done this, is it something that needs to be corrected or not?
