Designing an exchange server 2010 infrastructure

Hi All,

hope you are doing fine. Our present infrastructure consists of 80 users, all having outlook 2010 using POP3/SMTP connecting to our isp. We have bought exchange server 2010 and now we want to move all the users to our exchange account. I have never installed exchange. It is going to be my first time. I just need some guidelines from you all if possible. I have some questions as well. Please find below.

(1) Do I still need to go through my ISP to send and receive email? We have some users here who have blackberry phones and this may cause a problem because once a mail is received in their inbox at the ISP, that mail is forwarded to their blackberry inbox. So if we bypass the ISP, there is no way the users can receive their mail on their blackberry right?

(2) If we decided to keep our mail boxes at the ISP, if i am not mistaken, there should be a POP3 connector to download the mail from the ISP into our exchange mailbox. Is there still a POP3 connector in Exchange 2010?

(3) We will have around 80 exchange users. In exchange, there are 5 server roles. Do I need to install all of them and Can i install all of them on one server? Please advise.

(4) Again if we decide to keep the mailbox at the ISP, users who have laptops will they still be able to download their mail at home? I am really confused about that part.

(5) If we decide to keep our mailbox at the ISP, will we still be able to access our mail outside for instance OWA?

my apologies for asking so many question on one thread. Hope you can help me.

regards,

ashley
