We are looking at adding students into Exchange as contact objects, but because of the volume we would prefer to not see them in the Default Global Address List. We'd prefer to only see regular faculty and staff in the GAL and only see student
contact objects in a specific Students address list. As best I can tell from browsing the forums there's no easy way to make a different address list the default, so I can't create a custom one that hides students and just set that as
the default. I looked at Address Book Policies, but it mentions "The GAL used in an ABP must, at a minimum, contain all of the address lists, including the room address list, defined and specified in an ABP. Don’t create a GAL that contains
fewer objects than any of the address lists in the same ABP. " That kind of kills my idea of creating an ABP. So is there no way to hide users in the GAL, but have them show up in an address list?
