taking vm snapshots of local mahine before applying an Exchange rollup

hi,

I take vm snapshots of the system before applying a rollup to Exchange, but do rollups impact active directory or the databases?

If they do, snapshots are more harmful than beneficial.  If rollups just impact the local installation, then a vm snapshot can be used to revert back from a failed installation.
