Outlook Clients cannot connect to CAS Array VIP After Exchange 2003 to 2010 Migration

Dear All,

I am in a need of urgent help here; I am in middle of migration of Exchange 2003 to 2010 and I am facing issues that outlook clients cannot connect to Exchange 2010 CAS Array once their mailboxes are moved to Exchange 2010. Let me explain you my current scenario:

  1. All the Exchange machines are on VMWARE
  2. Servers VLAN has a subnet of 192.168.3.x
  3. Clients VLAN has a subnet of 192.168.20.x
  4. DAG is running on 2 Mailbox VMs
  5. CAS Array is configured using NLB on 2 VMs
  6. CAS Array NLB is on additional NIC with same subnet as 192.168.3.x
  7. CAS Array NLB using Unicast Mode

The issue is coming when I am moving users to 2010 many of their outlook disconnect and say trying to connect.

When I checked their machine they are able to ping the CAS Array VIP but they cannot do any other action like they cannot telnet on any port like 80,443,135 or RDP.

When I checked their outlook settings CAS Array name is mentioned there accurately; From client machine no traffic is reaching to CAS Array VIP except Ping request but the clients can telnet or ping or RDP to all other servers including the IPs of NLB NICs.

There is a temporary workaround when I change client PC IP Address some times it start working which is also weird and sometimes it does not. But the client whose outlook was working after changing the IP stop working later on.

Kindly revert back to me as soon as possible because it is critical because many users are facing issue.

Appreciate your help

Regards,

Ahsan
