Exchange 2010 / Exchange 2010 "your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable"

Hello community,

I've been reading all the different posts and trying/validating the various solutions based on the issue I am having with Exchange 2010. Before I get into the issue the environment is as follows.

Outlooks Involved:

1. 2008 Terminal Servers with Outlook 2007 Installed. Internal Network

2. 2008 Terminal Servers with Outlook 2010 Installed. Internal Nextwork

3. External Outlooks using mixture of Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Exchange Environment:

1. Exchange 2007 (SCC, 2 HUB/CAS servers with NLB)

2. Exchange 2010 (2 Mailbox servers using DAG, 2 HUB/CAS servers utiliizing SSL offloading & load balancing using KEMP with CAS Array defined)

My issue that I can't seem to be able to resolve is that Outlook 2010 on the internal network keeps getting an error of "your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable" whenever trying to set the OOF on any mailbox wether it is on Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010. However if I log into the 2008 servers with Outlook 2007 or use an External Outlook the issue does not happen.

The odd part is that if I wait about 2 - 5 minutes on the 2008 Terminal Servers with Outlook 2010 I am finally able to set the OOF and remain able to do so for the entire duration of that logon. Once logging off and back in the issue happens again.

So far I have removed and added back the Autodiscover and EWS virtual directories. Made sure that the Autodiscover test in Outlook provides a valid XML and checked the URL given back to make sure they provide a valid response. Rechecked the guidelines of KEMP for setting up load balancing with their product. And went over numerous posts through technet and the web. I'm hoping someone here has some insight in what the issue could be and so far from what I see the issue is strictly an issue with Outlook 2010 setting OOF on Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010.

Thanks in advanced and keeping my fingers crossed someone can pin this down for me!

Regards,

Craig
