Hello everyone,
My colleagues and I are planning to upgrade our current Exchange environment (SP1/RU6) to SP2 (which will be followed by RU4) and based on our current configuration, would have a couple of questions regarding the best way to perform this task, which I believe from what we have read is considered a major upgrade.
Our current environment is composed of a 4 server dag on which all 3 roles (MBX, HUB & CAS) are installed. 1 is located in our DR site and 1 serves as a lag server (3-day replay), the 2 others are hosting the active dbs.
Questions
1) Can the schema upgrade be done separately and in advance?
2) Based on the installation recommendations, hub and CAS must be upgraded first. Since our servers are hosting all three roles, which one should be upgraded first or does it matter?
3) Are there any other points we need to take into consideration before doing this upgrade?
