We have a mostly empty root Forest (just DCs and admin user accounts) called "corp.local". It contains a single child domain for the US office that contains DCs for the child domain and all the current users authenticate to that child domain called "us.corp.local". We have a single Exchange 2010 server installed on a member server of the child domain called "exchange01.us.corp.local". We have an external SMTP domain setup and serviced by exchange01.us.corp.local.
We are now adding an office in Europe. We wanted to have the domain users accounts in a separate child domain for management purposes so we can have a local European admin. However they want all the European staff to still be in the same external email domain. So my question is can I create a second child domain called europe.corp.local and have the existing exchange01.us.corp.local server service email for that child domain? Or do I have to have a second Exchange Server on a member server in the europe.corp.local child domain? Or am I going about this totally the wrong way?
Thanks for any input,
Daniel.
