We had an issue with the motherboard in our exchange 2010 sp3 server, and dell swapped it out today. Everything came back online fine, and then after about 45 minutes stopped sending emails.

Its still getting emails from the outside world, but it is not sending from our network to anywhere. Even to other internal users.

Help!!! any help is appreciated!! i am new to exchange 2010, and was very proficient in exchange 2003 sp2. Obviously they are 2 completely different worlds

I'm having a problem that I thought was DNS related, but I've since flushed the DNS.

What happens is when I try to relay off a Hub server, it always tries to use any random Receive connector, even though my client is explicitly in the Relay connector list.

When I telnet to the HT by hostname on 25, it opens a random receive connector. If I continue to /flush and telnet over and over, it cycles through all the connectors (default, Relay explicit and the others that block the connection).

When I telnet directly to the IP of the Relay connector, it works perfectly.

What would cause the server or client to not use the correct explicit connector all the time?

We have a client on SBS 2011 using Exchange 2010. Since some of the emails sent by their  blog content provider are getting quarantined by the content filtering agent we added the domains and sub domains of the parent domain to avoid these emails getting blocked.

Despite those parent and sub domains are on the content filter bypassed domains those emails are still getting quarantined by the content filter agent.

We have already rebooted the server after modifying the  content filtering configurations and there are less than 10 domains / sub domains on the  bypassed domains list.

Did some research and, it looks like the certificate is replaced with a old selfsigned one. And we use a third party SSL, so i rekeyed the certificate, and installed it and assigned roles to the new certificate. And now we have a lot of certificates, and OWA/Exchange is still in a mess

I also see in Event Viewer:

Because of this error above, i tried to register the exppw in IIS, but no luck.

I am going to apply SP1. I heard MRM removed and introduced Retention policy tag and retention policies.

I have a csv with a list of names of public folders. Header of column is called PublicFolder. I’m basically wanting to loop through all the folder names using the command below in EMS:

I have looked but I cannot find a tool or technical name of the tool (DLP?) or something that will allow me to report on mail attachments. That is, create a monthly report on mail, attachment name and size. A device like an AntiSpam software works but we don't wish to put it for messages inside our enterprise (more like inbound or outbound).

Would you be so kind to let me know if there's anything I could buy/install or the name to search for it? I'm at a loss. If you are busy, I only need the name of the tool (some kind of middleware, obviously not a sniffer) and I will search.

I would like to know, in what situation / circumstance , we can go for email retrieval from transport dumpster

MaxDumpsterSizePerDatabase and MaxDumpsterTime    

If either the time or size limit is reached, messages are removed from the transport dumpster by order of first in, first out. 

Is it possible to to retrieve the emails from transport dumpsters , if the mailbox servers is down for over long period ( more than 7 days) 

i would like to test the transport dumpster in ex 2010 test environment

There is a public CNAME “autodiscover.my-external.com pointing” to host A record point to public IP that is nated to my CAS array IP

When I try to configure a profile from the internet, I am able to find the mailbox but then I get the below with the log on to server – 3^rd step

When i test my outlook anywhere installation on exchange 2010, depending on the user i get a rpcproxy.dll unauthorized 401 error.

we have 3 datacenters each has 3 CAS exchange 2010 Server + 2 HUB Servers and 4 Mailbox Servers. two sites are acting as production sites while the 3rd one is for Dr. All the 12 mailbox servers (4+4+4) are in a single DAG. now my question is; if our both the production sites are down mean majority of servers in cluster will be down, what will happen with the cluster? will it be online or no? I was studying somewhere that the majority of servers in a cluster should not be down otherwise the cluster service will not come up.

Kindly advise how to achieve this.

Just recent tried to install sp1 for Exchange 2010, this failed, and ended up in installing SP3, and this went ok.

Ok, by meaning, the installation itself went OK, but the former SP1 isntallation broke a couple of things, and some was adopted to the SP3 isntalaltion.

Recently i have shutdown all the virtual machine ( Hyper-v)  for maintenance in data center, once  i have start my services on i noticed that one of my exchange server MBX02 database are in failed state. after reasearching and troubleshooting i find the below workaround can somebody guide me to the correct solution for this case..

below is my current scenario 

Hyper -v failover cluster 2012.

Node1 hosting = AD1 , CAS/HUB1 , MBX01 

Node 2 Hosting = CAS/HUB2 & MBX02. 

now the issue is with MBX02 stays on NODE 2 the exchange 2010 DAG is not working.  once i moved it to NODE1 the dag is working fine with replication so NODE 1 is hosting = cas/hub1 MBX01 MBX02 all are working fine,

if i treid to move the MBX02 on the node2 where node2 is the owner of this VM DAG is not working ( suspended database ) and even the failover cluster service  for node2 is down .

can anybody assist me how to fix this issue..

Is there someone out there who has done such a migration and can offer some advice? In perticular whether co-existance works like F+B etc.

First off, we are running Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010.  Exchange is running SP3UR5 and is stable.  Outlook has the latest updates.

We have archive mailboxes on all our production mailboxes.  We automatically archive items older than two years into these.  We have several colleagues who have access to one or more shared mailboxes, who had no issues when they were using a Windows XP workstation.  However, when they were moved to our Windows 7 systems, their archive folders all show their primary mailbox SMTP address. If you click on a folder in the archive mailbox, the search bar shows the correct mailbox name. And to confuse things just a little bit more, the primary mailbox for these shared mailboxes shows the correct name.  Has anyone else seen this, and, more importantly, does anyone know of a solution? TIA ...

There doesnt seem to be a way to auto delete emails with any empty message body?

Its always spam that has no text in the body.

There doesnt seem to be a transport rule for this, or an anti-spam rule in exchange 2010.
