Message Tracking log and internal sent messages

$

Hi,

I am trying to get a list of all messages sent from particular Exchange server.

When I run this command "Get-MessageTrackingLog -EventId send -Start "01/11/2015 00:00:00"  -ResultSize unlimited" I only get messages which were sent to the external recipients.

How can I get message list sent from internal senders to internal recipients too?

Thanks.

Outlook 2010/2013: Security Warning after installing new certificate

$

replaced our Exchange 2010 SSL certificate from Digicert with another containing the following names:

mail.ourdomain.org

autodiscover.ourdomain.org

Our internal DNS has A records with mail.ourdomain.org and autodiscover.ourdomain.org pointing to internal IP of mail server. I've configured the following URL's as well

AutodiscoverServiceInternalURL to https://mail.ourdomain.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

OABVirtualDirectory to https://mail.ourdomain.org/oab

WebServicesVirtualDirectory to https://mail.ourdomain.org/ews/exchange.asmx

ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory to https://mail.ourdomain.org/Microsoft-server-activesync

OWAVirtualDirectory to https://mail.ourdomain.org/owa

ECPVirtualDirectory to https://mail.ourdomain.org/ecp

For some reason, some of my Outlook 2010/2013 users are still getting a security warning: "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site". It appears it's still presenting out our mailservername.local name but since the cert has no .local name anymore, they get the warning. If I recreate the mail profile, the warning goes away completely. I've googled this thing to death and I cannot find out why some Outlook clients get the warning while others don't.

TLS issue with one member in a 2 node 2010 DAG

I have a 2 node DAG setup with exchange servers in different AD sites connected with a VPN tunnel.

The DAG works as it should, and either server can serve up emails to all my users.

The issue that I am seeing under certain conditions is as follows.

Server G and Server V are the exchange servers with all the roles installed on both. All our mail is routed through our smart host and TLS is required else the smart host drops the connection to either exchange box. This works fine.

However, the issue occurs when Server G is passive and Server V is active (normally G is active all the time and V is the backup).

Everything works as it should, mail flows into the organisation and gets delivered to the users. But as soon Server G is turned off or otherwise un contactable by server V the smart host refuses to connect to Server V and says that TLS is required but not advertised.

Emails get bounced at this stage until I turn on Server G.

I checked the certificate and all is well all the SAN we need are there, and both Exchange servers have the same certificate installed.

I don't understand why Server V needs to have Server G visible and running to work properly. Surely if there was an issue with the certificate then it wouldn't work at all.

Any help on this one is much appreciated.

Thanks Tom.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 The delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

I am trying to assign delegation to a user and I receive the following message.

The delegates settings were not saved correctly.  Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list.  You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

We are using 2010 for the server and client.  There are only specific mailboxes that this is happening for after being migrated from Lotus Notes.  The user can use their mailfile fine however it is just the delegation that appears corrupted somehow.  I'm not sure how to fix this.  I have checked the access through the security tab in ad and that looks fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Public Folder Calendar disappearing from Other Calendars in Outlook 2010

My environment is mixed Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 SP1 update 5. I have a number of users that access a public folder calendar by adding it to their public folder favorites which then adds it to their Outlook 2010 Other Calendars.

Beginning last week these users started reporting that the public folder calendars are starting to disappear from Other Calendars. If they go to their public folder favorites and click on the public folder calendar it seems to add it back in to Other Calendars.

Any ideas why they started to disappear?

Migrate to exchange online - Large shared mailboxes

We have an on-premise exchange environment with users have mailboxes up to 20GB. They share these mailboxes with their secretaries. So some secretaries have about 10-15 shared mailboxes in their Outlook.

Now we want to move everything to Exchange online. I'm a bit worried about these large shared mailboxes and wondering what will bee the best approach to have the best performance, etc.

What is the best thing to do in this situation?

Thanks, Mike

Exchange 2010 to Exchange Online with dirsync (Hybrid)

$

Hi,

I am planning to sign the Exchange Online and migrate some users to Exchange Online and part will keep the Exchange On-Premises (2010).

I'm reading various documentation, understanding some possible scenarios, but stay with some doubts about the connection (Client Access) Microsoft Outlook for users who are migrated to Exchange Online.

These doubts arose because the documentation is guiding create a CNAME (autodiscovery.domain.com) for the A record (mail.domain.com) which is the NAT for my Exchange On-Premises. The receiving e-mail will continue to occur for my Exchange On-Premises.

Scenario:

- Mailbox Database configured to CAS (casarray.domaim.com / 10.10.x.x);
- All computers are in the internal domain (domain.com)
- In the External DNS I have the records:
  - Mail.domain.com / 200.x.x.x
- The Internal DNS I have the records:
  - Mail.domain.com / 10.10.x.x

In the scenario where the incoming mail will continue to be held by the Exchange On-Premissses (2010), I was wondering:

1 - Users who were in the Exchange On-Premises and migrated to Exchange Online. These connect to Microsoft Outlook via RPC / MAPI. Or you will not change at all?

 - Microsoft Outlook will automatically be reconfigured to use RPC over HTTP to the address (mail.domain.com / .10.10.x.x)?

 - If the answer is yes, it means that he allocated the mailbox in Exchange Online, the connection to the access client is the Exchange On-Premises?

2- If that user with the computer to the external network, it will resolve the name (mail.domain.com) with the external DNS, but he will continue to be transferred to the Exchange On-Premises and will be directed to Exchange Online?

3- Users who are migrated to Exchange Online, if there is any problem of internet access, your mailbox will be disconnected? Meanwhile, it is on Exchange On-Premissess continue working normally.

4- Users who are migrated to Exchange Online, open the webmail (mail.domain.com/owa/ - 10.10.x.x) it will be automatically directed to the webmail Exchange Online?

Thanks again.

Mail bounces for internal users when they send to mailbox wich was deleted and then recreated.

After reading a bit, I understand that this happens because outlook has cached old mailboxes address in x.500 format which is different on recreated mailbox.

So how do I find out what was the old x.500 address of the deleted mailbox

and will it be sufficient to add x.500 address via exchange management console, to the recreated mailbox to solve this problem?

So anything coming in forAmail@ourdomain.com and I would like to forward this on toAMail@theredomain.com. I would prefer to do this without having to create a mail box for Amail, is there a way to do this in Exchange 2010.

Non-Delivery Report after changing smarthosts

$

I cut over to a different smarthost (went from Symantec to Proofpoint) and noticed that I'm getting a non-delivery report e-mail in my Outlook inbox about every 20 mins. Most of them are regarding the same exact e-mail.

I've no idea how to track this down  far as why it's being triggered and why I am receiving it.

Can anyone assist? I'm trying to search via the proofpoint appliance search, as well as Exchange, and while I can see the messages there, it doesn't give me any insight as to why I'm getting a non-deliverable -- i'm not even a recipient
