Exchange 2010 Mailbox Server Role Requirements Calculator

I'm using the Exchange Requirements Calculator and looking at different Design and Sizing Examples provided as best practice from Microsoft, VMware and others.

I have a couple of questions:

1. The VMWare example show a user base of 8000/150 Sent/Received messages and they are only using two mailbox servers.  They are using two servers with 6 cores each for a total of 12 cores.  When I plug in the data in to the calculator it comes back with needing 70 cores, is this correct?  I'm sure this has to do with the mailbox size, 2048 MB but it doesn't seem to change much when I experiment with different sizes.

2. Here's one of my biggest concerns that I wanted to try and clear up. On the Input tab of the Calculator in the "Mailbox Database Copy Configuration" the item "Total Number of HA Database Copy Instances (Includes Active Copy) within DAG", I understand this to be the Active database and the number of passive copies I want. So if I want one active mailbox that everyone's mail is being written to and I want one copy then I would select 2 for this input value, correct?

Thank you!

**Edit: I found one of my issues and that was the calculation of the SPECint2006 Rate Value was off. Now it is looking more in line with the examples.
