Retrieving list of Active User Count.

Hello,

Referencing the Exchange 2010 performance definitions posted here:

Blogs.technet

blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2006/09/11/3394858.aspx

Specifically under MSExchangeIS\Active User Count:

" Generally, "MSExchangeIS\Active User Count" is less than "MSExchangeIS\User Count"."

It then states that under some conditions, Active User Count can exceed User Count for some reasons.  The main condition I'm interested in is:

If client applications disconnect (close all their logons) and reconnect (open at least one new logon) multiple times in one session, then they will be counted multiple times in the "MSExchangeIS\Active User count".

I want to identify these applications

In our environment,  our Active User Count always exceeds User Count

For example, currently Active User Count is 26,374 and User Count 4,325.  This ratio at this time is good for us, it has been higher.  Active User Count has been as high as approx 90,000 in the last 24 hours.

I'm looking for a way to get a list of Active User Count

I have used the Get-LogonStatistics PS command against all mailboxes on MBX1 server and the results only total 12,340 logons, of which were 7,820 unique sessions. As the reference document stated above, the word connections and sessions could be interchangeable. 7820 is close enough to Connection Count in the image above so I feel the Get-logonstatistics command in addition to isolating each unique session listed in the results is equal to the Connection Count performance counter.

Anyway, too much information as usual.  My goal is to get a list of all items counted in Active User Counts, and hopefully there is enough information about each one where I could identify why in our environment what systems are causing the Active User Count to be so high continuously. We have many 3rd party systems (BES, Good, ActiveSync, Cisco, 3rd party archive) and I want to identify these counts so we understand what is hitting our server as a baseline, and what is not normal.

Any help appreciated.  Examples of your Active User Count vs. User Count appreciated as well.  Our environment is roughly 4,500 medium to heavy mailboxes.
