Retention Policy Logging

Few questions regarding Retention policies:

1- How do I enable retention policy logging in exchange 2010? I followed the same steps we were doing in exchange 2007 but nothing is being logged

2- Is there any way to apply the same MRM policy we had in exchange 2007 to mailboxes in 2010 after they have moved. This is a mixed env with e2k7 and e2k10.
