When I try to sign in, I am told this: You've exceeded the storage limit for your mailbox. Delete some items from your mailbox. However, it doesn't take me to my mailbox so that I can delete items. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange 2010 does not accept mass emails.
I am working on a test environment. I have an application which sends mass emails to clients. I am testing this app before going live. To test this, I have set up an exchange 2010 SP1 and AD in a single box. I have not configured this exchange to send emails to outside yet. I want all emails the App send, to be queued in the exchange server, so I can check the mail count and know the app sends all emails successfully. This app is to send nearly 15000 emails within few minutes. BUT every time I run the process and check the mail queue and tracking log, I see only 993 emails in exchange. And also I get below Error " The remote pipeline has stopped. It was running the command 'get-message -ResultSize '1000' -ReturnPageInfo $True -SortOrder '+FromAddress' -server 'Server FQDN' -Filter '((Queue -eq "Servername\Unreachable"))'........
Please help to solve this.

Exchange personal archive vs GFI vs Symantec enterprise vault
Hi,
Can someone help in deciding which options is best to go for archiving both personal as well as complainance archiving for users upto 5000.
We are looking for some solution which can give us PST free enviornment as well as full complainance archiving with great search results.
Options which i can think of as of now are below.
1. Exchange personal archive
2. GFI
3. Symantec enterprise vault
1. Solution should have intergration with outlook.
2. Fast search
3. Complainance for all the regulatory firms. etc

OWA attach document working but not working ?
Hello All;
Tested on Windows 7 & Windows 8. Both with IE11
Exchange 2010 Rollup 6 - When you open OWA and create a new message, the attachment will not show in OWA.
Here's the details:
1. Open OWA
2. Click NEW
3. To... Myself
4. Subject: Test Attachment
5. Click Attachment Icon
6. Click .txt or .doc file
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Will not appear in message as seen below
But once I click the SEND Button, It was attached.
Any Ideas on why the attachment will not appear in OWA ?

Can't create Exchange users in a new child domain
Hi,
i have an Exchange 2010 SP3 ( 1 CAS/Hub + 1 mailbox) server running in a parent domain. Few days ago i've created a new child domain, but i can't create mailbox for users coming from this new child domain.
The error message says that i don't have enough rights to do this operation (can't copy the error, translation from frecnh will be a disaster :p )

MSExchange OWA : Average Search Time counter stays the same and never goes down.
Solarwinds keeps alerting for MSExchange OWA : Average Search Time. It's critical threshold is set to 100. I have a CAS with the perfmon counter for Average Search Time at 247 and another at 965. However, the values never go down or even fluctuate. In fact, it hasn't changed in at least the last 7 days.
Any recommendations on what to do? How can I reset the counter? Is that a counter worth monitoring? Additionally, would there be a better threshold. I've read on the internet the Average Search Time value should be below 31,000ms, another says 5000, and even another says 100. So it seems like no one knows the real answer.

Auto Delete email in an Archive?
Is it possible to set a retention policy on a mailbox archive to auto-delete archived files over a certain age?
We have mailboxes that get extremely large amounts of QA related email (>1 million per 3 months and over 25GB), and I want to use the archive to off load some of the 3 months of email from the main mailboxes. But I still want to delete anything in these archive mailboxes over 3 months old, as QA no longer needs them.
Is there any way to do this on an archive mailbox?

Importing Exchange Module on powershell
I am making a script to print all attachments in a mailbox.
The script cannot be run on the mailserver, as it needs software like adobe reader, word, etc to open the file to print them.
I am importing the module from the mail server to the App server using a new-pssession command as so:
New-PSSession -configurationname microsoft.exchange -connectionuri http://mailserver/PowerShell
My question is, if I run the print script from the App server, will it try to open/print the files from the mail server or from the server I am currently on? It is imperitive that it prints from the App server.

Using Search-Mailbox with -DeleteContent while excluding well known folders (e.g. Contacts)

I am using "Search-Mailbox" with "-DeleteContent" in order to clean up mailboxes after exporting their data to PSTs.
Search-Mailbox -Identity "user name" -SearchQuery "Received:< $('01/01/2013') OR Sent:< $('01/01/2013')" -DeleteContent
Is there any parameter/logic to add to -SearchQuery similar to Include/ExcludeFolders found in "New-MailboxExportRequest" (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607299(v=exchg.150).aspx).
My goal is to leave in the mailbox the content of certain folders (e.g. Contacts) regardless of their entry date.
So far my workaround has been to separately export messages (range), contacts and notes (up to the most current archive date) for each mailbox then run the above command. Once deletion completes import contacts and notes back into the mailbox.

Free Busy information not appearing correctly in Outlook
First some background:
For two of our Resource Mailboxes, we are having an issue where all times are showing outside of Work Hours (gray). The working hours for both of these rooms are set for 8-5, pst, just like all our other Resource Calendars. This occurs on all installed Outlook clients, but does not occur through OWA (both logged in as the resource, and a standard user).
Things we've checked and confirmed are the same with a working resource:
- Permissions for the Mailbox
- Permissions for the Calendar
- TimeZone Information
- Work Week Information
- Resource Policies
Steps we've taken to try and resolve the issue without affect:
- Forcing a OAB update on Exchange and Locally
- Changing Work Week/TimeZone
- Changing Calendar share permissions
I'm a little lost at where to proceed next, I've got a mind to try and just kill our OAB and rebuild from scratch, but will talk that over with our Exchange Admin. I've done Compares on Get-Mailbox, Get-MailboxCalendarConfiguration, Get-MailboxCalendarFolder, Get-MailboxFolder, Get-MailboxFolderPermission, Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration and probably every other cmdlet one could run on a mailbox (except for probably exact the one I need).

Cross forest migrated users cannot receive e-mail

We have Windows 2003 & Exchange 2003 product environment. I have tested user and computer migration to new Windows 2008R2 & Exchange 2010 forest as cross forest migration. I have done it using ADMT 3.2 and prepare-move-request and new-moverequest EMC scripts. At first i moved e-mails using those scripts and then global groups, user account SIDs, passwords, local profiles and computer accounts using ADMT.
Everything looks ok. I can log on new domain and also logon e-mail and read migrated e-mails. Problem is that migrated mail users cannot receive e-mail but they can send. If I make new user account in new domain both sending and receiving works ok.
Any suggestions, what to do? There is nothing in log files and testing with telnet says that message is queued. Why migrated users cannot receive mail?

Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguraton not Working Cross-site
I've stumbled across a scenario where a client with multiple AD sites is having a problem where the changes to the Sent Items Configuration only works for mailboxes that are in the same AD site. For example:
Mailbox A is in a database on Server A1, which is in ADSite A.
Mailbox B is in a database on Server B1, which is in ADSite B.
The Sent Items Configuration for Mailbox A is configured as SenderAndFrom for both "Send As" and "Send on behalf of".
Mailbox B sends a message as Mailbox A but the item only appears in the Sent Items folder of Mailbox B instead of both.
If I move Mailbox B to Server A1, A2, A3 or any server in ADSite A, the email appears in the Sent Items of both mailboxes as expected. Likewise, all emails sent from mailboxes in ADSite A, irrespective of server, will appear as expected.
If I move Mailbox B back to a server in ADSite B, the email only appears in the Sent Items of Mailbox B. This behaviour occurs for all mailboxes in ADSite B.
The same applies when the scenario is reversed so it's not an issue with ADSite A alone.
I read somewhere in the forums and on another TechNet blog that Microsoft has a fix for this but I haven't seen any indication that the fix has been published for anyone to download.
My client is currently on Exchange 2010 SP2 RU8 and isn't planning on upgrading to SP3 until early next year for some reason but may bring those plans forwarded if a fix exists in SP3. Does anyone know whether the fix is available in any of the recent cumulative updates for SP3? I haven't seen anything in the release notes for any of them speaking about it specifically.
Alternatively, has anyone found a workaround?

Removing Pubilc folder and default mailbox database
I have two mailbox sever in our environment, a virtual EX2010 and physical EX server 2010. We had migrated from EX2003 to Virtual EX2010 including Public folders. All the clients are using Outlook 2010 so we don’t need the public folders. All the mailbox have been moved to physical EX2010.
I have usedADSIEdit tool and removed the public folders completely but the othermailbox database is still referring ( path ) to default public folder ( DB properties – client setting)
I am not using Virtual Exchange and when I try to delete the default mailbox database I get below eroor msg.

i need some clarifications please
Exchange 2010 sp3, one DAG (2 hubs, 2 mbs)
after a year, we've reached the limit of our hard drives and i have to add a second drive. the log disk, which is separate, is still 150GB in size. initially we have 3 databases but because of hd space i added a second drive, same size of 1.5TB, and created 3 new databases there for moving the current contents of the old database to the new database.
in creating the 3 new databases, i used the same storage group. now, i came across this article

that it would be wise to have the database spread out across storage groups. some points there are pretty obvious but some aren't. for instance, "Databases can be smaller" is mentioned. how can the databases be smaller just by spreading them across storage groups? i mean my users have lots of attachments and such so i don't see what it means that i will have smaller databases once i use more storage groups.
another point, "Log files and log traffic are not shared between multiple databases". does it mean i would need another log drive?

Exchange 2010 public folder description property
In Outlook, if you display the properties of a public folder, on the general page is a field called "description".
In Exchange 2003 I waqs able to access this field using wmi and the microsoftexchangev2 object (comment field). This object does not exist in Exchange2010.
The description field does not appear in powershell commands get-publicfolder, get-mailpublicfolder or get-publicfolderstatistics.
I have been able to find this field using ldap in the "microsoft exchange system objects" container in a field called info.
Unfortunately, this field is not always populated. Out of about 6000 folders that have the description field populated, the info field is only populated for about 800.
So, my question is, is there a reliable place where the public folder description filed is accessible in exchange 2010?

Unable to connect Outlook 2013 Client to Exchange 2010
Hello, I am unable to connect my Outlook 2013 (Development) Client to Exchange 2010. I have an outlook 2013 client on 64 bit Windows 8 connected to an Exchange 2010 server on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have been using this setup for some time for Java client and server development.
This setup has worked fine for a long time. I had been receiving 2 certificate mismatch errors for some time but always managed to click through and continue on just fine.
This morning that changed and Outlook switched from Trying to Connect/Connected to Disconnected. It refused to work.
I removed the Outlook profile and created a new one. The process failed to work with an encrypted connection but seemed to work without it and resolved the IP address to the proper server id and everything looked OK.
Now I am unable to open Outlok at all with the following error:
Cannot start MS Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The
set of folders cannot be opened. You must connect to MS
Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your
folders with your Outlook data file (.ost).
I am not well versed on Exchange or network setup. I hope someone can help.

Invoices relayed from Linux ERP system treated as spam
We use an ERP system that is on RedHat Linux and this creates and sends Invoices etc as PDF attachments via the Exchange 2010 server. Lately the emails have been sent to people's junk folder with the message that the attachment is dangerous. Why has this suddenly started happening, how can we prevent it?
