I do not want users to be able to initiate a wipe of their smart phone using OWA.
How can I disable this feature for them but still allow administrators to initiate a remote wipe through the Exchange Management Console?

As the title.
I have approximately 3MB of data in the public folders, including the system folders.
How long time should this take to move from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
Anyone that can estimate it?
Hello
So we have a functionning Exchange 2010 server. We've used it with no problem for years to send and receive internal emails and to send external emails. To receive external emails though, for years now, we've used a software called PopCon that checks the email in our hosting company's Pop server for each user and forwards them to our Exchange server. You can guess that this is pretty inefficient.
I want to change this so that emails come directly to our Exchange server.
What do I need to make sure is configured in my server and in the MX Records on my hosting account?
Thank you! :)
Hi All,
This user is login to the Ourdomain.com but accessing the nextdomain.com Exchange server. When we start Outllook
security alert popup. "The security certificate was issued by the company you have not chosen to trust..."
I have install this certificate but still this Certificate got error " This CA Root certificate is not trusted....."
Issue:
User cannot open OOF and message pop up " Your automatci reply settings cannot be displayed because server is currently unavailable "
I run the Test email auto configuration but result " Auto configuration was unable to determine your settings"
In log i can see this https://autodiscover.nextdomain.com/auto......../auto...xml ( Failed 0x8004005)
As
Site runs SBS 2011 with Exchange 2010 (Version 14.3 Build 123.4).
There was a swing migration from SBS 2003 (Exchange 2003) some time ago.
We have found that one of the managers mailbox is accessible by all users, but we cannot find where these incorrect rights are set. I have run: get-mailboxpermission and checked the membership of all groups listed, but do not see any listing or group member like Domain Users.
One thing I did notice that is different about the account, is that in Active Directory Users and Computers the security settings for the user was not set to inherit permissions, when other users are. I have now set it to inherit permissions and that has not resolved the issue. I have not clicked on the restore defaults button. I cannot see any obvious users or groups listed in these permissions that would give all users access to the mailbox.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find this unwanted security setting?
Thanks in advance.
I'm getting an error with my ET install:
Exchange Server component Edge Transport Role failed.
Error: Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
Install-ExchangeCertificate -DomainController $RoleDomainController -Services SMTP
" was run: "Access is denied.
".
Access is denied.
I was going to try to install a certificate manually, but I actually am not sure what the requirements of the cert are. This is in a test environment, so nothing live is affected. I was going to just try to self-sign a cert for the server and install it.
HI all,
Currently, I am using self-signed cert for non-domain outlook clients to connect to my E2007 servers. Is it possible to add an entry like _autodiscover.tcp.domain.com to my external DNS as well as internal DNS so clients on external network can access their mailbox and/or configure their outlook to link to their mailbox?
Thanks
Eric
Hello All,
Sorry if this has been answered, but I haven't seen anything that addresses specifically what I need in the forums.
I have a single Exchange 2010 Server. I've set up a new receive connector called Open Relay and have opened up various I.P. Addresses. What I would like to do is open it up for all of my subnets internally (10.0.0.1/24.) Which is easy enough.
Here's the problem, I only want the Open Relay to work internally, I do not want any of my workstations to be able to relay off the trusted subnets, across those internal subnets YES, but to the outside world, NO. Everything I try gives them rights to relay both inside and outside, that is a blacklisting just waiting to happen.
This is so that all the scripts that I run remotely on workstations can send me emails with info that I need.
Thanks Eric
Hello,
i have been trying for two weeks to export a user's mailbox with the following cmdlet:
New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox username@domain.com -FilePath \\servername\c$\users\ADMINISTRATOR\desktop\exports\username.pst
It stays hung at Queued and 0% status. No matter what I do, it does not move past that.
I have tried the following after looking through the forums.
Get-MailboxExportRequest |Get-MailboxExportRequestStatistics
Name Status
SourceAlias PercentComplete
---- ------
----------- ---------------
MailboxExport Queued USERNAME 0
Test-ReplicationHealth
Server Check Result Error
------ ----- ------ -----
EXS01 ReplayService Passed
EXS01 ActiveManager Passed
EXS01 TasksRpcListener Passed
I stopped and started the following services on my 2 CAS server and 2 Exchange Servers:
EX and EXS servers--Microsoft Exchange Replication
CAS Servers---Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication
No Change
I rebooted all of my mail servers....no change.
Tried a different user....same results...nochange
tried exporting to a different location...no change
tried the export request on different mail servers...no change
I am extremely tired of losing this battle for something that should be such a simple process. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Cheston
We have a completely internal Exchange environment meaning CAS servers are not published externally. Is there some good documentation on the steps involved in transitioning this to externally facing CAS?
I know there's a bevy of steps involved since we need new DNS entries, new SSL certs, changing settings for CAS directories and of course reverse proxies etc.
I wanted to see if there's any good documentation or case studies out there documenting this process end-end?
Team,
We have 2 Active+Active sites running Edge, CAS, CAS+HUB, MBX, TMG and Blackberry servers.
We are having 3 DAGs (don't ask the reason :)) and all servers hold active, passive copies.
What is the best sequence to reboot these servers?
I mean start with which site first (does it matters) and reboot which servers first?
Thanks, Vik
Hi,
We have 4 different welcome messages because we have 1 exchange server for all locations.
Each location we need to change the welcome message. Is this possible? Pls adv. Thanks.
Warm Regards,
Josette
I ran ExBPA on my server, and it gives, for what I can understand false errors.
It says that Admin, Auth Users, Domain Admin and enterprice Admisn have incorrect permissons on
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OAB\6306d9ca-dddb-4972-b4b7-7f946bd01482'
But when I check the permissions, they are correct, could the problem be that ExBPA do not recognize other languages than English, hence misinterprets the permissions.
Hello, moving mailboxes to a 2010 server to another one in a different forest, for some mailboxes gives " completed with warning" with log below. Some mailboxes move complete with success. Need a clean-mailboxdatabase to be able to access the mailboxes with warning. What could be the cause ? Thanks
29/07/2014 13:08:12 [CASHUB01] Failed to reset the target mailbox after the move. Attempt 2/2.Hi,
We are facing the issue with oulook popup for username and password.
Below are the details.
After reboot if we open IE9 then outlook 2010 we get outlook username and password pop-up.
I have tried disabling IE add-ons but now still pop-up is coming.
But If i set IE with no add-ons and outlook in the start-up then we are not facing this issue after reboot.
This issue starting when we migrated Sharepoint from 2003 to 2010 and started getting this pop-up. Is there any know settings which could cause this issue.....
After putting username and password outlook starts working.........
This is a weird situation. User logs in to domain without issues and is able to access outlook. However, during the middle of the day, outlook keeps prompting user for authentication or password.
Profile has been re-created. ESSO cache was cleared, but still the same thing. Created separate email profile for other email accounts she access, but same issue still occurs.
Has anyone seen this issue and what resolution have you used.

Hi all. I have done some reading but it seems I can't find just a simple step-by-step on how to renew an SSL certificate issued by a 3rd party CA for Exchange 2010. I really don't want to mess this one up by cobbling together partial answers from various forums and end up omitting something, then being stuck unable to figure out why I broke email while the CEO flips out.
This is a standard GoDaddy 5-domain UCC certificate. There is only one Exchange server, SP3 (I don't think I have Rollup 6 on yet). The existing certificate expires in a month or so.
I have some specific questions but perhaps these would be answered via what I hope will be a step by step instruction set in your reply :) Sorry to appear lazy by asking for the full instructions just that so far no single forum post nor MS TechNet article has addressed all my concerns, or in some cases information conflicts. So my concerns for example are: can you do a renewal for a certificate before the old one expires? It is actually a renewal, or are you adding a 2nd certificate? Do you have to do anything in IIS or does EMC or EMS do all that for you?
Thank you.
hi All,
we are facing some kind of critical issues. we had 3 MB servers . the two servers are in DAG all our productions DB's running in DAG. the DAG servers are crashed due to hardware issues. one server is acting as archival server. all servers are running exchange 2010 sp3.
now we are trying to rebuild new servers to restore DB's. the new servers is prompting the product key to be entered. unfortunately we don't have product keys of exchange 2010. since we are gold partner we have partner network portal. when i tried to get the product key from portal am able to see only 2013 keys. we called up Microsoft and explained but no use. they said we have to use exchange 2013. but we cant simply go ahead and migrate.
but the only option is we have exchange 2010 installed servers they all act as CAS/HUB server with the same licence. please let me know how do i retrieve exchange 2010 product keys from an existing servers. Please advise me its very critical.
can we get the product keys through some kind of scripts?
