can some tell me how often the automatic reply is send in Exchange Server 2010.

Is it once per day for each sender or once per week for each sender?

In the web some tell per week, some tell per day.

Is it possible to change the time shedule, so that each day a automatic reply is send?

I have the same situation as described here in which the copy queue length is 9223372036854775766:

The suggested solution is to run the following, which bypasses all saftey checks:

Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase DAG-DB0 -ActivateOnServer DAG-2 -SkipHealthChecks -SkipActiveCopyChecks -SkipClientExperienceChecks -SkipLagChecks -MountDialOverride:BESTEFFORT

I have attempted to move the active DB several times with the above switches, but the shell freezes and will not move past "A remote procedure call has been issued to database...". I ran it verbose and it doesn't move past "Resolved current organization", which is right after I confirm the action.  I let it sit for about 8 hours with no activity in the shell or in the event viewer.  This is present on all DBs (28) in a 2 server DAG group, and DBs are mounted, healthy copy status, healthy content index and a 0 replay queue length.  We have half as active on 1 server, and half active on the other.  Our latency is less than 1MS as both servers are located on our property, a local network with a 100Mbit connection about 1 mile apart from each other.  There are under 1000 users in the DAG, and I have attempted this on 2 different DBs each with 1 user each under 250MB size mailbox.  Any ideas on how to proceed?

I've got a simple Exchange 2010 setup running along a 2007 insallations.
I have 2 DC's both running 2008 but not R2.

My issue is, I have moved a couple of users using the local move request. One of them I delete the move request as soon as it had been completed (the icon changed back to the one without the little green arrow), but the other gives me an error message of

The user exists and has not been moved within the OU structure.

In a real world situation, this would then stop me from moving the user again. Obviously this doesn't happen every day, but a user could move offices for a short period of time and wish to move the mailbox to a local server.

Any idea's ?

Hi There. I am having a problem with the Calendar of one user:

This user cannot share his calendar from OWA or Outlook, nor can I set then in Powershell. Even worse, I can't even view his calendar permissions in PowerShell. For all other folders there's no problem.

So for example, I can run:

get-mailboxfolderstatistics -identity user | select-object name

this proves to me there's a path of username:\calendar and it does exist. Then I can run:

get-mailboxfolderpermission username:\inbox

and this is fine. But if I run:

get-mailboxfolderpermission username:\calendar

I get this error:

"The operation couldn't be performed because object 'username:\calendar' couldn't be found on 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.MailboxSession'"

I have to stress this is a medium sized deployment with 6 databases and 4000+ mailboxes. This is the ONLY mailbox (and specifically the only folder) to be displaying this behaviour.

Has anyone ever seen similar behaviour for a single folder for a single user before?

We see the event 4999 on our CAS Servers almost every hour. I thought this problem were fixed in Rollup 4 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2514574/en-us). We have 2 CAS servers and we see the event occuring on both systems. All users are using Outlook 2003. We have installed Exchange 2010 SP1 RollUp 5 three weeks ago a all systems. The event 4999 will be generated only during business hours. We don't see the error during the night.

Where do we search for logs of messages relayed through an Exchange 2010 server?

I can only find message tracking associated with an Exchange mailbox, but I would like to find logs of any messages relayed through the Exchange servers on a specific past date without being delivered to an internal mailbox.

We've been receiving a lot of spam lately.

The smtp address changes daily. The one commonality is the "HG New Windows". When checking the header it displays as

From: HG New Windows <HGNewWindows@getgreatnew-installspecials.us>

My question is: How do I create a transport rule where if the From address has "HG New Windows" it should be quarantined?

I had created a Transport rule using When the From Address contains specific words and from users that are outside the organization. However that rule doesn't seem to work because it continues to get delivered.

Any ideas?

I have a client who is currently using Lotus Notes to access his calendars.  He will be migrating to my network which uses Microsoft Exchange.  Is there a tool that allows me to migrate his calendar from Notes to Microsoft Exchange 2010.

In addition what is the best method to allow users to ccess their mail and calendars remotely on laptops and blackberry.

• Both site has array Of different FQDN
  
• site A has active copies, its PASSIVE copies are in site-B
• i have witnesserver in third location
• if Active mailbox database in Site-A fails, passive copy on Site-B will become active;  i guess
• My question is ===>  without downtime or without MANUAL Task, will mapi connection goes to site-B copy ??? ,

I'm having some issue with a specific group of users in a certain mailbox database cannot access their email using the Desktop Outlook 2010 intermittently.

The fix was to reboot the whole mailbox server which is resolving the problem temporarily until it happens again.

I'm using Riverbed WAN optimizer device in my Data Center hence I got into this issue as per this KB article: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2878175

But when reading this SP3 RU3 https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2891587 it says that it is resolved.

• 2878175 Client Access server crashes when you use Outlook with a Riverbed WAN optimizer in an Exchange Server 2010 environment.

now I wonder which one should I apply or follow ?

I have an exchange 2010 server and have added a new accepted domain which will be used for linked mailboxes in a trusted domain. I have also created a new Email address policy to apply to  these linked mailboxes but it doesn't seem to be applying. In the address policy properties, I can click preview and it shows the linked mailboxes the address policy applies to which is great, but when I look at the users mailboxes they do not have an email address relating to the new policy, they just have the original email addresses.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make sure the new linked mailboxes get an address specified in the new address policy?

As we know forefront protection 2010 for exchange server will expire on Dec 31, 2015 and I'm looking for other options. Our environment needs AV installed on servers (on demand mailbox scanning) so MS FOPE service.. though good; will not met the requirements.. Fyi ..we have Proof Point to scan our inbound/ outbound mail for virus/ spam

There are multiple vendors like Symantec/ Trend Micro /Sophos etc.. any pro's / cons that someone can share

Yes Ex2013 has built in antimalware but it is limited to transport level scanning only... there is no quarantine/ reporting/ filtering attachments / multiple engines etc...

We have a hybrid scenario of exchange server 2010 on premise and O365 exchange online. Presently we have certain domains added in the hybrid configuration. We are consolidating email services under one domain, as such our new public certificate only has the SAN entries for that one domain. We would still want to receive emails sent to the other domains but want to update the hybrid configuration wizard with the new certificate and remove the old domains from the configuration.

What effect would this have on emails sent to addresses using the old domains? We still have the MX records for these domains pointing to exchange online protection.

I've been tasked with finding out the distribution of users across my mailbox datastores. 

In other words, I need a way to generate a report that will give me a breakdown of how my users are distributed across each of my mailbox databases as a percentage of each database.

I have 7 databases so I need to know how the are spread out across the databases as a percentage among the each database. This is needed so we know if we need to redistribute the users across the other databases that may have less of a load on them.

I don't want to use "automatic distribution" for this, I only want to run a report.

got 2 mbx nodes in one dag.  I will be shutting them down for maintenance.  Node A, I will put in maintenance mode and shutdown.  whats the best way to shut down nodeB.  Should I put that also in maintenance mode bfore I shut down?

What about the cas/ft role server ... I can leave that running I guess?
