Situation:
2 Exchange systems, 1 is Exchange 2013 (main system), 1 is Exchange 2010 (contract system). Every employee for the company gets a mailbox on the main system, employees assigned to the particular contract also get mailboxes on the contract system. As requested, I've setup forwards on the mailboxes on the main system to forward their incoming email to the contract system. We do this all the time with contracts, and it works most of the time, but, as you guessed, it isn't working here.
I've built myself a mailbox on the contract system and have forwarded my main system mailbox to the contract system mailbox. I can directly email my contract system mailbox from my main system mailbox, mail is delivered fine. If I send an email to my main system mailbox from another account, the message is delivered to my main system mailbox, but not to the contract system mailbox. I've checked the Delivery Report on the main system, looks good, see the receipt and the forward. I've checked my firewall logs (Barracuda) and it shows the outgoing message being received and delivered by the firewall. But, nothing is ever delivered to the contract mailbox. I've perused the Delivery Report on the contract system and there's no logs of the message being received.
I'm puzzled.
- I can send directly from my main system mailbox to my contract system mailbox.
- I apparently can't have my main system mailbox incoming mail forward successfully to my contract system mailbox.
I didn't setup the contract system (Exchange 2010), I inherited it and there's no notes at all about how it was setup and why. I've gone through the settings, receive connectors, etc and nothing is popping out saying "here I am, fix me!"
Please help. Suggestions, comments, recommendations on where/how to debug this further, etc all welcome.
Thanks, Steven
