We have stumbled upon a serious issue for which I cannot exactly nail down the cause. We had an exchange 2003 server, 2007 and also 2010. All mailboxes are homed on 2010. I went through the documentation to move the OAB and public folders to 2010. Use the system admin console to drag and drop the public folder to the exchange 2007/2010 organization. Uninstalled exchange 2003. Everything still fine. Once the 2010 CAS servers rebooted no outlook clients could connect. The ones that are able run very slow.
If I run the command get-publicfolder "\non_ipm_subtree" -recurse | fl name, replicas it tells me that does not exist. If I add -server exch2010mbxName it shows non_ipm_subtree replicas {}.
It is almost like exchange 2010 is still trying to defaultly use exchange 2007? I have gotten rid of those public folders as I was in the process of removing exchange 2007. I have ensured the OAB is set for web distribution.
I do not know what else to check or what we are missing. It has become a large mess. TIA!
