Exchange User does not appear in Global Address List, Cannot access a Shared Calendar

Migrated our Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 server.

All appears well.

However, after the move, a new employee was added to the system.

I do not remember reading the GAL to see the changes, but know that the employee can see the Public Folders.

He cannot however, be connect/allowed to connect to a shared calendar, even when done by sending him a direct share email link.

However, when I look in the Global Address List, he does not appear.

We do not use Exchange for sending/receiving email, only for sharing calendars/contacts.

All other users are able to see/share with each other.

I also note that the icon in the mailbox section of the Console has the "move" icon for all users, except the new user who has a different icon.

I have looked at the user config permissions and account info, all seems to be the same.

Ideas?
